Our talent

HIGH ACHIEVERS, SELECTED ON QUALITY AND CULTURE.

We deliberately aim for the top: ambitious university and university-of-applied-sciences students and young professionals who stand out and are used to performing alongside their studies. You see that in high grades or a board year, but just as much in a business of your own, a side job you keep up alongside your studies, competitive sport, perseverance or in how someone has developed on their own. We reach them through our own talent pool, the community and the job board, and the network of study associations and other student organisations, and we match on skills and culture fit. Our preference

WHY A WORKING STUDENT?

Our focus is on working-student roles: the reason VOIDS was founded.

It is the answer to bottlenecks you often run into with standard roles such as internships and starters. Below you can see why it is the best solution for most requests, and when an intern or starter fits better.

Five benefits of a working student

Flexible

Scales with your hours and planning.

Cost-efficient

You pay for the hours you need, not a full-time salary.

Colleague working focused at her laptop

More focus

Takes work off your core team, more independent than an intern.

Continuity

Stays longer than an intern, no repeated re-onboarding.

Low-risk trial

Get to know each other first, then grow together.

81%
Did you know?

of working students stay in their role for at least a year; half of them aim for 1–3 years, often hoping to move into a permanent position.

Still deciding?

WHEN AN INTERN OR STARTER FITS BETTER.

INTERN VS. WORKING STUDENT

Still, not every role is a working-student role. The core difference: an intern is mainly there to learn a trade, a working student runs structurally as a full team member. Quick checklist, what fits your situation?

Choose an intern if…~3-6 months
  • there’s a clear learning goal or project
  • you have time for guidance
  • the project runs 3–6 months
Choose a working student if…1+ year, grows with you
  • you need consistent extra capacity
  • someone needs to run with it independently
  • you want a longer collaboration

WORKING STUDENT VS. STARTER

And how does a working student compare to a starter? The core difference: a starter has graduated and has no studies left to combine with the role, a working student is still combining the role with a degree. Quick checklist, what fits your situation?

Choose a starter if…After graduating
  • you need someone who can focus fully on the role
  • the role often needs (near-)full-time availability
  • there's no study schedule to work around
Choose a working student if…1+ year, grows with you
  • you want to scale up and down around a study schedule
  • cost matters compared to a full-time starter
  • you want to get to know someone before a permanent offer
Community of students and starters
The long term

YOU GET TO KNOW TALENT EARLIER.

Instead of competing for talent only after graduation, you get to know that talent earlier, guide it and let it grow. A more lasting relationship, where you invest in development instead of simply buying capacity.

That’s why we look beyond filling a vacancy. We advise on how to make a role challenging, worth learning from and future-proof. A good working student isn’t cheap labour, but a future professional.
